Merrimack County Saving Bank Responds to Local Flood Victims' Financial Needs

Concord, NH - May 19, 2006 - In response to the recent flooding in Central and Southern New Hampshire, Merrimack County Savings Banks has initiated a loan program to help local flood victims during this crisis. "With branches located near flooded areas, and with our own customers and employees affected, we recognize the need to be responsive and supportive to the immediate economic conditions of the area", said Ronald A. Wilbur, President and CEO.

In addition to making loans available, Wilbur also emphasized the importance of proper water damage clean-up in maintaining a home's value. "I encourage homeowners to research the topic, and to look at information provided by organizations such as the New Hampshire Bureau of Emergency Management and American Red Cross as they evaluate their own situations."

Merrimack County Savings Banks is offering a quick turn-around and discounted home repair loan program to homeowners in Greater Concord and Greater Nashua who have sustained damage during the flooding of May 2006, subject to bank approval. The bank will accept applications through June 30 and will cap the total amount loaned under this program.

To obtain the special rate, a work order from a contractor is required that demonstrates that the work is related to flood damage sustained in May 2006. For information about applying for this program, please contact Art Letendre at 225-2793.
